In the United States alone, roughly 1% of all births take place every year at home or at a birthing center. While this percentage may not seem significant, it does, however, represent a very real shift in the minds of more and more women away from conventional thought which tries to dictate that hospitals are the only safe places to give birth.
This episodes guest is author Alejandra Alvarez and we talk about giving birth at home. Alejandra has had all four of her children at home. Her book, Born at Home is her attempt to raise the level of awareness of home births in order that women may have a safer, less invasive, and more personal childbirth experience. From her journey, countless other women have been inspired to take their own journey of giving birth at home.
Alejandra Alvarez is the Vice President of Vista Hills Family Dental. In 2008 she earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Management and Administration from the Hubbard College of Administration. She is married to Dr Jose Alvarez and they are proud parents of four amazing children.

Storytime can be a powerful tool to make talking about a child's emotional/mental health more accessible for the parent and child. This is such an important message for all parents so that we can give our children the tools they need to handle their emotions as they grow into adulthood.
Talking about mental health issues can be just as daunting for an adult, as it is for a child. Recent studies, however, are indicating that it’s something we should definitely be discussing.
In the United States alone, up to 1 in 5 children a year suffer from a mental disorder according to the CDC. That comes to over 17 million children meeting criteria for disorders that affect a child’s behavior, ability to learn, and process emotions.
The Doctor Dads speak with author Brian Wray about his new book Max's Box. In his new book, “Max’s Box”, Wray offers children and grown-ups a glimpse into what can happen when emotions are suppressed, and how with the help of people who care, we can let go of the things holding us back.
Max's parents give him a very special gift; a box that will hold everything. After putting in his beloved firetruck and fluffy stuffed dog, Max discovers that the box will hold his feelings, too. When Max is angry, the anger goes straight into the box. With each feeling it stores, the larger it grows, and the larger the box grows, the harder it is for Max to do anything. Before long, Max's box is so big, it holds him back from enjoying regular kid activities, like riding his bike or climbing trees. Eventually, with some very special help, Max learns how to turn the box into something beautiful, and to let it go.
While the U.S. has come a long way in recognizing the effects of mental health, there is still a misconception that mental health issues are the domain of adulthood. Children have feelings, including fears and anxieties, just as deeply as adults. However, they lack the language to express them, and experience to give those feelings perspective. Misconceptions, along with persisting stigmas associated with mental health can prevent children from getting the mental health treatment they need; which can lead to a range of other problems later in life.
Picture books can help begin an important discussion. Allowing a child to see themselves in a story, shows them that they are not alone in their experience. Brian Wray’s books are a starting point to having larger conversations that he hopes will create a lasting impact.
“Mental health issues don’t go away by ignoring them. Acknowledging them, and talking about them openly is the first step to managing them. What better way to reach a child, than with a story?” – Brian Wray
A BIT ABOUT THE AUTHOR --Brian was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to New York after graduating from Penn State. In 2003, Brian was awarded the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting. During an opportunity to write for Walt Disney Studios, Brian discovered his passion for telling stories for children. He writes from Brooklyn, where he lives with his wife, two daughters, and their endless inspiration. Brian’s first book, Unraveling Rose, was the 2017 Foreword INDIES Gold Winner for "Picture Books, Early Reader".
Max's parents give him a very special gift; a box that will hold everything, including Max's feelings. The more feelings that are added, the bigger the box grows, and before long, Max's box gets in the way of everything he wants to do. Eventually, Max discovers a way to turn his box into something beautiful.
"This sensitive story of Max and his box of feelings is a wonderful conversation starter, and will provide children a way to visualize not suppressing their emotions with support from parents."
- Dr. Nerissa Bauer, Behavioral Pediatrician.
2017 Foreword INDIES Gold Winner for "Picture Books, Early Reader", “Unraveling Rose” is the story of a stuffed bunny who loves having fun with the little boy she lives with, until she discovers a loose thread dangling from her arm, and it’s all she can think about. The story will help parents and teachers talk to children about what to do with obsessive thoughts.
“This story helps us realize that being perfect is not what really matters, and that we can learn to appreciate life with all its imperfections.” –Dr. Linda Mayers, Ph.D., Child Psychologist

Hypnotherapy is highly misunderstood by the general public due to the media and portrayal by the entertainment industry.
Hypnotherapists are trained to facilitate a process that allows us to tap into our subconscious to become aware of past experiences from which we have created beliefs that are effecting our thoughts and behaviors in the present. Think of it like a guided meditation that enables you to sift through memories and pinpoint the root cause of your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors which create your personality (personal reality).

Rapid Release Therapy is the “go-to” therapy for physical therapists, chiropractors, sports trainers, and the health and medical community. The next generation in vibration therapy, it delivers precise targeted energy to offer fast and effective relief.
The Doctor Dads sit down with Jeff Maier, VP of sales and marketing for Rapid Release Technology and discuss the science used behind the development of this amazing instrument. Jeff schools us on what makes the rapid release so effective- resonance, TVR (Tonic Vibration Reflex), hyaluronic acid viscosity, fascia floating, glycation, and how it gives such an extremely therapeutic effect when used effectively.
Dr Paul Nogier, French neurologist, published in 1972 the frequency of scar tissue and the “Universal Healing Frequency” was 147Hz.
The highly beneficial Tonic Vibration Reflex or TVR is triggered when vibrating muscles between 100 and 200Hz. Rapid Release operates right in the middle of this frequency range. The TVR is documented in Pubmed to relax the agonist/antagonist co contractions, the mechanism behind spasms, cramps and muscle guarding. According to pubmed, there is strong evidence to suggest enhanced strength, flexibility, stamina and proprioception, strongly suggesting neural enhancement.
Dr. Nick and Dr. David use this device in their clinics and highly recommend this to any practitioner in the health field. Whether you are an athlete, average joe, homemaker, or pain relief seeker the rapid release may just create the magic you are looking for.

The Doctor Dads bring on one of their mentors Dr. Dan Pompa to discuss the vital importance of taking a multi-therapeutic approach and addressing root cause to get well, be well, and live well. From cellular detox, the 5r’s of cellular healing, using the right binders, the gut, fasting, autophagy, oral health, and more Dr. Pompa dives in and gives us a great teaching.
Dr. Pompa earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University’s College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia in 1995 where he graduated second in a class of 150. His journey back to health continued to lead him to a voracious passion to research and learning beyond what is often readily understood.
His understanding of cellular healing and his “5R Principles” as the “roadmap” to healing has led to many requests to be a speaker at large chiropractic seminars to hundreds of professionals who learn of his detoxification program for neurotoxic conditions and other unexplainable illnesses.
Dr. Pompa has established his coaching and teaching on a firm and proven conviction that the crisis of modern-day allopathic medicine is the sad result of physicians chasing symptoms with medication rather than addressing the root cause of disease. This even occurs within functional medicine. His approach to getting to the “upstream cause” is what separates him from others in allopathic as well as functional medicine.
His clients receive coaching based on the fact that God created the human body with the ability to heal itself when interferences such as heavy metal toxicity, poor nutrition, and subluxations (whether physical, emotional or chemical) are removed.

Episode #27- NIS (Neurological Integration System)
Sunday Sep 08, 2019
Sunday Sep 08, 2019
The Doctor Dads sat down with The Brain Doctor Dr. James Bentz to talk about NIS (Neurological Integration System). This is a technique that Dr. Wardy just added to his tool bag this year and was trained by Dr. Bentz who is a master of this work for over 20 years. As chiropractors Dr. Jim and Dr. Wardy are constantly working with the nervous system. NIS enables them as practitioners to gather information of signal disruption from the brain to the body and from the body to the brain to see the deeper picture of why the patient is having the dysfunction in their health. Once the signal disruption is restored (Integration) the body can move back towards restoring homeostasis. Every chiropractor needs this in their tool bag to become more efficient and accurate at removing subluxation.
James Bentz D.C. graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, summa cum laude in 1984, and was inducted into the International Chiropractic Honor Society. He holds a B.A. degree in Biology and Conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Bentz has been in private practice in Washington State since 1985. He was an author on an article on x-ray accuracy and analysis published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physical Therapy in 1985. In 1996 he was Board Certified in Clinical Nutrition through the International Academy of Applied Clinical Nutrition.
Dr. Bentz has been the North American Trainer for the Neurological Integration System (NIS) since 2013. NIS is a system of healthcare based in neuroscience, and Dr. Bentz has trained hundreds of practitioners since 2013 including Chiropractors, M.D.’s, D.O.’s, Acupuncturists, N.D.’s, Occupational and Physical Therapists.
The Neurological Integration System (NIS) has been under development by Allan Phillips D.O. since 1989. NIS allows practitioners to detect and correct signaling disruption in the brain, and between the brain and the body, thereby optimizing neurological, immune and physiological function.
Dr. Bentz has been raising awareness about the role of the brain in healthcare as a NIS Trainer for several years. Dr. Dan Pompa recently interviewed him on his Cellular Healing TV show about NIS and how he uses it in practice.
Some of the more revealing questions he is asked about NIS and the brain are:
What are some of the most exciting discoveries from the recent explosion in brain research?
What role does the brain play in health and healing?
What kinds of health problems can be resolved by the brain?
How do you actually access information in the brain?
What do patients experience when you reconnect brain pathways?

Episode #25- Listening To Smile
Sunday Aug 04, 2019
Sunday Aug 04, 2019
Could 15 minutes a day be the answer for you to get the awareness and clarity, mindset, energy, sleep, healing and more that you are desperately searching for? The power of sound and frequency goes back into ancient times as is still used frequently today. For some this may be an answer for you to get into a form of meditation that you can easily implement and find useful compared to other methods.
Ian Morris, has over 20 years’ experience as a musician and has studied and worked in the performing arts field all of his life. He was raised around music and some say he was born with a natural gift of creativity. What lead him down this path of sound healing and frequency was his own personal struggles and journey through chronic illness and the anxiety and depression that came from being so sick. He explored sound and frequency using pure tones and then began creating music with these tones and other sacred frequencies to help facilitate his own healing. The results he experienced were astonishing beyond anything he could ever imagine. His family and friends noticed the miraculous change in his health and this led them to inquire more about what he was doing different. They wanted to experience this too.....and thus, Listening to Smile was born.He began working with small groups in his community and studied how frequency affects many different ailments, illness, and dis-ease of both mind and body. He even built a sound/frequency table so that the body could be completely immersed in the vibration of the tones and frequencies.Ian took feedback and input from doctors, psychologists, and holistic practitioners to streamline and solidify his services. His goal was to create a customizable experience. As the programs began to develop the clients were shocked and elated by the results. This work grew into the live sound healing events called “Sonic Meditations.” As more and more people wanted to experience his frequency music the program expanded into an international community. The perfect equation: Intention of the listeners, the healing power of frequency, his amazing talent and beautiful music, and consistency = healing for the body, mind, and spirit! Ian has seen firsthand how frequency music changes lives, not only in the hundreds of people from all over the world that he has worked with, but in his very own life with dyslexia and illness.Listening to Smile frequency music is transformational. The possibilities are endless for how LTS music can transform your life and heal your body, mind, and spirit.

Dr. Niels J Pedersen, D.C. is a Wisconsin-born, Chicago-raised functional medicine fanatic.

A life of awakening is not one in which we never fall into a dark valley, it is one in which when we do fall, we have learned how to move through it. We need emotional muscle in order to rise. It takes work to develop emotional muscle. This is the inner work of the soul.

Part 1 of 2
Part 1 of this 2 part series The Doctor Dads interview Siri Amrit Sing Khalsa.
Born into a family of Kundalini Yoga teachers, Siri Amrit Singh Khalsa was raised with Kundalini Yoga as part of his daily life. He spent much time with Yogi Bhajan through his childhood and shared a strong connection with the Master thereafter. He became a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher at 18 years old, upon graduation from Yogi Bhajan's school Miri Piri Academy in India. He spent an additional 2 years in India studying the science of Sound and Mantra with a Master teacher, Ustaad Narinder Singh Sandhu, and continues to maintain these practices in his daily life. Siri Amrit Khalsa lives in beautiful Vancouver, BC with his wife Nirinjan Kaur, and his two sons.
In this podcast The Doctor Dads discuss the power of sound healing with Siri Amrit Khalsa. Having the opportunity to study yoga and chanting (naad yoga) with mantra for most of his life, he has come to truly appreciate the power of resonance frequency and its application to health and well being. When generating sound current with the power of Mantra (programmed sound), one is able to change the "frequency" of the body chemistry. We know through the profound insights from Dr Bruce Lipton (as discussed on previous episodes) and Dr Masaru Emoto in his book "the hidden messages in water" that water can be programmed with the frequency of thought and emotion. Considering our bodies are mostly made up of this substance we are able to program our body towards health when generating resonant sound frequency using chanting, mantra, yoga, thoughts among many other tools. Siri talks about how this is just one of the many ways to elevate the frequency of cellular health and encourages the listeners to find a path that stirs your soul and helps to give your life meaning.
This is an extremely interesting discussion into the power of sound and will set the tone for the next podcast where the doctors will be diving into some cool technologies using sound for healing.
